Unfortunately, as we all should know, it’s that time of year where it seems that almost everybody around you is sick. I usually don’t get sick, but having to be around a football team of 100+ players who all are currently coughing and sneezing, I wasn’t so lucky this year. My ears, nose, and throat are in the worst condition right now. I don’t believe in taking medicine, I never have, so I always use/look-up all natural cure-all remedies. Taking the knowledge that I have on certain herbs, I came up with a healing turmeric tea that consists of: ground turmeric, ground ginger, cinnamon, raw honey, and lemon juice. This drink should be your very best friend during the cold and flu season, especially if your schedule/school responsibilities do not allow you to have sick days like mine. It will help to keep your immune system strong, and it’ll relieve symptoms of the cold and flu if you currently do have it. I already feel 3x better.
All you need to do is heat up 1 1/2 cup of water, using a tea kettle, a pot on the stove top, or the microwave it really doesn’t matter. Once the water is done heating all you need to do is add:
- 1/4 tsp of ginger
- 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of raw honey
- 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
These ingredients will settle so you constantly have to stir the mix while drinking. I don’t have a lot of time to go into detail about these ingredients, this is a spontaneous blog that I am currently writing before I have to go back to clinicals.
