An All Natural Mango + Shea Hair Butter For Curly Hair

Yesterday I FINALLY made a hair butter that stays smooth and creamy and I am super excited to share it with you guys. Anyone who makes their own hair butter knows that sometimes these natural fruit/nut butters can harden, but nope not this time! I even let it sit for 12 hours to test my recipe. This hair butter reduces frizz and produces immense shine to your tresses. My hair was instantly smoother and softer, and super moisturized when I used it to braid my hair this morning. I cant wait to pair this with my all natural coconut water + oil spray and my super growth natural hair oil  blend.

Tatum The Naturaleza Hair Butter Recipe!

What you need!

  • mango butter
  • shea butter
  • hemp seed oil
  • grapeseed oil
  • olive oil
  • argan oil
  • avocado oil
  • jojoba oil

How to make!

I didn’t use exact measurements, I whipped and mixed the butter until I got my desired texture/consistency…

Jojoba oil is essential to this mix because this oil is what keeps the butter smooth and creamy, along with the mango butter. So make sure you add this oil more than any of the other oils!

  • take a handful of cubed cut mango butter + 2 cubed cut shea butters and whip it as best you can before you add any of the oils
  • while you’re whipping, add a generous amount of jojoba oil and whip it for a few minutes
  • then add the rest of the oils (hemp seed, grapeseed, olive, argan, avocado) and continue to let it whip for about 15 minutes

If you don’t have your desired creamy consistency after adding all the other oils, keep adding more jojoba oil until you do!

Once your butter is complete, transfer it into a small glass container and store in a cool dry place. Under your bathroom sink is the perfect place.

I recommend using this butter after you wash your hair, and when your hair is in need of some moisture.

How I use it:

  • firstly, I’ll wash + condition my hair
  • apply the growth oil to my scalp and massage it in
  • spray my hair with the coconut water moisturizing spray
  • seal in the oils and leave-in spray with this butter
  • style my hair as usual (which is always either 2 braids or a sleek bun)

Then I’ll continue to use the butter throughout the week to maintain my hair and keep it moisturized.

By the way… I only wash my hair once every 2 weeks. I’ll do a rinse or a co-wash after the first week.
