African Grow n’ Glow! | Natural Hair & Body Care With A Purpose

As naturals, we are always on a journey to find the right natural hair & body products that nourish, grow & strengthen our curls. There are tons of products on the market that contain toxins & harmful ingredients so sometimes it can be a challenge to maintain our hair health, which is why I have always been an advocate of making homemade skin & hair products. The #1 problem, in my opinion, is that most of the individuals/business owners who make/sell these products have no knowledge on ethnic hair, so they can’t truly cater to it because they do not know what ingredients are truly beneficial for our hair types.

This natural brand I am sharing with you all contains nothing but natural, ethical, and skin & hair loving ingredients, and caters to people of color who are underrepresented in the beauty industry.

African Grow n’ Glow is a 100% NATURAL hair oil & hair/body butter line.

The African Grow n’ Glow Story

img_5432“African Grow n’ Glow is a social enterprise that was founded in the Fall of 2016 by sisters Yark and Joann Beyan. This hair and skin care line was created to address deficiencies in the beauty industry which continues to under-serve people of color. All African Grow n’ Glow products are made with all natural ingredients, we have a zero chemical policy. The key ingredient in many of our products, African Shea Butter, is sourced directly from West Africa.”

Their Products

African Grow n’ Glow Stimulating Scalp Oil

This scalp oil is AMAZING.  It is filled with hair loving oils such as avocado & Jamaican black castor. I felt the essential oil’s presence as soon as I applied it, it has a very cooling effect. It contains peppermint oil, an oil that is known to promote immense hair growth & scalp health by increasing blood circulation (which is needed for healthy hair growth). If you have a dry or itchy scalp this oil is great for soothing & treating it because it also contains tea tree oil, one of my favorite oils of all time. This stimulating oil also leaves your hair smooth & shiny. I apply it directly to my scalp and massage it in with my fingertips. I use it on wash day, and 2 days out the week.

African Grow n’ Glow Mango Hair & Body Butter

This butter is great for both the hair & the skin. My hair especially loved this butter. Mango butter is one of my favorite natural butters to use because it is filled with essential fatty acids that work to nourish & moisturize the skin. The essential oil blend this butter contains supplies your hair with the vitamins and nutrients needed to grow and flourish.

The butter will give your skin a vibrant glow while helping to fade scars and treat skin conditions like eczema. African Shea butter is packed with Vitamin A, which works as an anti-inflammatory

I applied this butter to my hair daily & saw that it made my hair soft, manageable, smooth, & shiny. My skin also always stays glowing & smooth throughout the day when I use it as a body butter.
