Treat Your Skin With The Power of Turmeric | Say Goodbye to Redness & Inflammation

Turmeric is ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite natural herbs to use in my skin care. When I first began living a holistic lifestyle, which for me includes making all my own natural hair & skin products, turmeric was one of my first go-to’s. I fell deeply in love with the way my skin literally glowed after the FIRST use. Of course I use it for all the health benefits it possesses, but for this post, I’m keeping it all about beauty (with a few health facts here and there, you know me).

Turmeric will heal your skin from the inside out. What I mean by that is it keeps the level of inflammation in your body low (when consumed); which in turn boosts your overall health. Being healthy on the inside shows on the outside. I can drink a turmeric juice at night before bed & wake up with the most impeccable glow! Here’s a quick & easy juice recipe:

Glowy Skin Turmeric Juice

All you need to do is juice:

  • 1 pineapple
  • a thumb of turmeric

I recommend you juice an actual turmeric root & not use powder. This powder doesn’t dissolve in liquid very well. You can also add a nob of ginger root to this juice if you have any bloating or digestive issues.

Drink in the morning or before bed. Not only will this juice have you looking flawless, it will cleanse & detoxify your liver. Its a win-win.

When turmeric is used topically, it reduces redness & inflammation making it perfect for combatting acne-prone skin. It also evens & brightens your complexion, improves skin texture & tone,  & continuously works to prevent your skin from future damage. It’s anti-aging, a powerful antioxidant which the skin l o v e s.

Let’s all keep our skin radiant during the wintertime!

Here’s an easy & inexpensive all natural face mask recipe that promote lots of healing and anti-aging:

Turmeric + Honey & Cinnamon Face Mask

This turmeric mask is easy to make and acts as a moisturizer, exfoliator, & reduces redness. It also brightens the skin making it look fresh & clean. With winter coming around the corner this is the perfect mask! You don’t have to let winter dry your skin. Honey is an amazing superfood that seals in moisture and keeps your skin feeling smooth. You’ll be getting less sun but you’ll still have that glowy look.

  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp raw organic honey, I always use manuka honey in my homemade face masks

Mix all the ingredients together until you get a paste like consistency. Apply the mask to a clean face and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse off gently with warm water. Pat your face dry and do whatever else your skincare routine consists of afterwards. This mask can be used often if you have acne prone skin. If you are just doing an upkeep, using this mask twice a month will suffice.
